Photoshop heads (streaming) to Chromebooks

Google appears to have scored a rather significant hit with the cloud computing universe as they team with Adobe for streaming Photoshop. In the near future, users will be able to work with a full (streamed) version of Photoshop from their Chromebooks with Chrome OS, utilizing the full power of non-local computing and the web.

If you'd like to try Photoshop for Chrome, you'll want to head to the Adobe Project Photoshop Streaming website and apply. For now it'll be open to education-based users in Beta form. In the future, it'll be aimed at everyone with a Creative Cloud membership.

Above you'll see the original 2014 keynote talk by Adobe about Creative Cloud. What you see here will be available on Chrome OS soon.

This system is demonstrated outside of a single operating system for a reason. They show a phone view, a tablet view, and a desktop view at once.

Utilizing remote servers as your Chromebook is connected to the web is the one killer feature – above all else, if you ask me – that'll have Chrome OS headed to schools and businesses across the world in the near future. Welcome to the cloud, everyone, glad you could finally make it.
