Apple sets the tone for touch devices, and now almost every handset manufacturers are putting at least some sort of effort to improve touch screen device experience. Philips unveiled its own touch handset today called X800, a tri-band GSM/GPRS Windows Mobile based handset.

The X800 features a large 2.9-inch touch screen with 262k colors and resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. Other notable features include a 2-megapixel auto-focus camera, microSD slot, and Bluetooth.

What’s amazing about this phone is its battery life, the X800 will go on up to 850 hours of standby time and up to 8-hours of talk time. Phillips did not unveil any pricing and availability information yet.
