If you leave the dimmer switch at maximum intensity, they work just fine. You dim and adjust them through the Smartphone app. I really love them and want to buy more, but know in advance that the green is not as green as I would have hoped, so they might be questionable for Christmas lighting. More to the point, I'm not sure if you even can buy them - Apple Stores have been out of stock for quite a while.

I've experienced the limitations with my Gen2 Living Colors with the Oblong remote. Apparantly there are several software versions of the Gen2 LC.
There are ones with Oblong remote that will not respond to Hue at all (type1), ones that have the Oblong remote that will only allow you to switch on and off using hue and change brightness but not color (type2), and ones with Oblong that will work fine (type3). LC Gen2 with Circular remotes all work perfectly (type4).

Using (O) only unlinks the RC with the lamp, it does not reset the lamp. You need to use (I) + (.) "ON+scene1" to reset them. On the Oblong remotes of the type3 LC you can also reset to factory default even though the OBlong remote doesn't have 'scene1' or (.) button. You need to use OFF+BLUE (in the 6 o'clock position) instead.

Using the factory reset button underneath the bridge does not do a full factory reset, in the sense that it will still remember it's paired lamps. Otherwise for people without LC and their remotes could potentially reset their bridge leaving the bulbs paired with a non existing bridge rendering them useless.

To reset the bridge to factory default press the round button and ON+Scene1, or OFF+Blue on the type3 Oblong remote of the LC Gen2.

Hope this helps.

You can integrate your Living Colors luminaires of the second generation
with Hue; they can talk with the Hue bridge. Here's how:

- Make sure Hue application is not running
- Factory reset remote control (open back of remote control and use needle to press small button in the little hole)
- Factory reset SmartBridge:
o Press button on top of SmartBridge
o Within a few seconds, keep a LC remote control close to the SmartBridge and press-hold the “On”+”scene 1” buttons on the remote control
-
Touch link all LC lamps and Hue Bulbs (by using the same
“standard” procedure used for lamps, i.e. press and hold “On button” on a remote control held close to a lamp)
- Touch link the remote control to the SmartBridge:
o Press button on top of SmartBridge
o Within a few seconds, keep a LC remote control close to the SmartBridge and press-hold the “On” button on the remote contr
- Start the Hue app
- A popup asking to find a SmartBridge will appear once again (as in the first time the Hue app had been used)
- Press button on top of SmartBridge
- Now all lamps which have touch-linked to the SmartBridge should available in the Hue app

Don't try to connect your bulbs to a SmartLink remote control! If you do, they can't be managed via the bridge any more. Never, because there is no way to 'unregister'them from the remote. (power down and up won't work: the bulbs remember their remote)

Would be problematic, same as all other low energy and led bulbs... but if you only switch on and of with the dimmer and not actually use the dimmer function on the wall it should not be an issue.

Hi Chris, are you sure Hue will (is) compatible with LivingColors? I own many livingcolor lamps by Philips and I want to buy Hue, however I wouldn't want to keep the old remote for LivingColors. Do you happen to know what the limitations are?
