Just bought one of these.. so heres a little review since i couldn't find one anywhere else.I'm watching mpg4 movies and playing PS3 games on it - and they look great at 70" wide. The projector is plenty bright enough to enjoy a movie in a dark room, but in daylight its going to look washed out and faint.Good stuff -
- no problems connecting to ipad or laptop.. and it reads SD cards up to 32Gb without a hitch.
- cables supplied inc. VGA to HDMI, USB to mini USB (for flash drives), Composite to HDMI
- photos look punchy and brilliant on it.
- very little fan noise.
- decent image resizing options (including 'zoom' which basically magnifies the image to full width of the projection whilst retaining its original ratio)
- Image can be flipped for rear projection.Bad Stuff-
- Focal length is fixed.. so the distance from projector to wall dictates how big your image will be.
- No keystone correction.. (you can't correct the shape of the image if projecting at an angle).
- Because its so small, the internal speaker is weak. You'll want headphones or external speakers (jambox would make a good companion).
- Build quality is questionable.. even after checking carefully with a spirit level, i found the image projected from my unit was slightly tilted so i had to modify the picopix slightly (with a sliver of cardboard and some sellotape) to make the picture truly horizontal.
- For some reason one side of the projected image is slightly lighter than the other.. though this is only really noticable when the picture is very dark.
- Oh, and it's fussy about formats.. some avi files played without audio and had to be converted. All in all.. its far from perfect.. but for the price, and considering how fantastically compact it is i'm really pleased with it.
