Philips 276E6ADS 27-inch monitor achieves 99% Adobe RGB color

Philips has unveiled a new computer monitor and according to the company it is the first quantum dot desktop monitor to be launched anywhere in the world. The display is a 27-inch unit and the big feature is its ability to reproduce Adobe RGB color. According to Philips, the display can reproduce 99% of the Adobe RGB color gamut making it ideal for professional photography and design.

Panasonic says that it would make a good screen for gamers and entertainment fans as well. Philips uses QD Vision's Color IQ optics to give users vibrant colors and life-like images. Native resolution for the 27-inch screen is full HD.

Pricing for the monitor hasn't been announced just yet, but Panasonic promises that the display will bring professional-quality to the market at the price of a normal mainstream monitor. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.

A full line of E6 monitors will be offered; presumably, they will have different screen sizes. The entire line is available in China now and will land in Korea, Europe, and the US by mid-2015. Many of the hard specs for the display, like contrast ratio, are unannounced at this time.
