Pharos Drive 250 navigation unit

It has a 4.3-inch touchscreen and a rechargeable Li-Ion battery that will net you 7 hours of use. That plus a decent GPS chipset is a pretty good start to a decent GPS navigation solution.

There is also a text-to-speech feature that will pronounce the street names for you, giving you even less reason to wreck while attempting to drive and look at the GPS. This unit uses Navteq maps which covers all of the US and Canada and has 1.2 million points of interest programmed in. All that data fits onto a 1GB SD card too.

You'll be able to pick one up at certain major retailers within the next couple of weeks for the low, low price of $300. With GPS prices dipping this low, and lower come Black Friday, everyone is going to be rolling around with some sort of GPS in their vehicle, I don't know how scalable the GPS satellite network is, but they might want to consider launching a few more just for load balancing purposes.
