Pentax Unveils Entry level Digital SLR, K200D

Pentax unveils a new entry level DSLR K200D to replace the 6.1MP K100D. It adopts the same 10 MP CCD image sensor and memory buffer that were previously used in K10D model. The body is now weather sealed with dust removal function and CCD-based anti-shake which were also featured in K10D model. The new body uses a high-rigidity stainless-steel chassis, well protected in a dust-proof and water-resistant sealing design, and has a large 2.7-inch LCD display.

Other features included high precision 11-points AF, auto and manual sensitivity from ISO 100-1600, range of picture and scene modes and 22 custom functions. The continuous shooting mode is capable of 2.8fps for 4 frames. It runs on Four AA size batteries, compatible with optional battery grip (D-BG3) and supports SD/SDHC media storage. The K200D will be released in March and priced at $800.
