Pentax K-7 DSLR specs & images leak

, May 19th 2009 Discuss [0]

Photos and a specifications list for the Pentax K-7 have turned up at one enthusiast’s site, and while unconfirmed by Pentax themselves they do seem believable.  The leak follows an advert for the camera that showed up yesterday, seemingly scooping Pentax’s own teaser campaign.

If the leaked specifications are to be believed, the Pentax K-7 has a 14.6-megapixel sensor paired with the PRIME II imaging engine, capable of 5.2 frames per second continuous shooting.  There’s also a new 77-Segment Multi-Pattern metering system, face recognition, contrast-detection AF and a maximum shutter speed of 1/8000th of a second.

On the back there’s a 3-inch 640 x 480 preview monitor, up top a pop-up flash and Pentax will supposedly be offering a vertical battery grip, model D-BG4, which adds power and is – like the K-7 itself – weather-sealed and cold-resistant.  Still no word on price, but with the official launch only days away, we should find that out soon enough.
