Whose to say that they might not already be in place. Why spend trillions on defense when you could just manufacture a circuit board for the enemies fighters and missiles with one line of code t that, when activated by transponder or other means, proceeds to disable/delete/sabotage every computer subsystem. It could be so innocuous that you could include it in all sorts of components that might end up in your enemies arsenal even if it also went into things unrelated.

Karen, well, what about those who stole the files? I'll bet that we could make a reasonable guess as to who that might be. I don't think that they wish us well, and I think that they have a limitless budget and they want total control over the internet.

Also, considering that most computer components are manufactured overseas now, there might be another way to achieve superiority by hiding mechanisms in the hardware or firmware to disable or take control of critical systems.

Read "The Mitrokhin Archive..." and see technology thefts have been happening for a very long time. The difference is storage is now digital versus plain paper. The FA-18 technology thefts, as an example, gave the Soviets leaps in technology they otherwise would not have made for years.

Articles such as this highlight the fact that someone at the Pentagon wants; a) a bigger budget, b) more control over the Internet, or c) both.

Too many people with access leaves too many possibilities for inside breaches of security which lead to outside access to sensitive files.
