I nearly forgot to mention – those decrying the design as being ugly are clearly not in touch with what kids today think is cool. As a high school teacher, I can tell you from first hand experience that the next generation of kids loves this style. I mean take a look at Casio G-Shock (or even their entire range) as an example! Eugh, I say. This is much more stylish, yet the Casio is immensely popular. For those who think it’s cheap and Chinese. Well, I guess they had better stop buying any form of consumer electronics, because it’s ALL cheap and Chinese.

What a surprising amount of haters! It’s clearly a beautiful watch, the screen is lovely, and the functions already available are useful and as advertised. Its only direct competitor, Metawatch Strata, which I also purchased via Kickstarter, is actually deserving of negative press but doesn’t seem to be receiving any attention at all.

My guess is that the haters below are unemployed or wasting away in dead-end jobs, spending their days trolling tech websites in order to post negative feedback, thinking it makes them a more successful person than they really are. Most probably can’t actually afford a Pebble or it’s ilk, and are venting in order to balance out their severe envy.

in all reality that is all that really matters. Subjective taste is literally what sells clothes, shoes, cars, computers, and you guessed it: Watches!!! What some people find “good looking” others find “odd.” The general populace decides what looks good.
If a majority of people think the watch looks ugly, then they won’t buy it no matter how well it functions.

Personally, I think the idea is solid, but I agree that the watch just looks bad.

To each their own. Personally, I don’t find the Sony’s design compelling at all because it looks like form over function to me. Plus, why would I even want a color display that I can watch while it drains the battery?

You don’t have to like it, that’s fine. But don’t pretend that it’s crap just because it doesn’t match your subjective taste.

I got a sony smartwatch so you’d think i’d like this one as well…but no, I don’t. It’s ugly, e-ink is cool but no colours so boring and the design of the watch itself is ugly. My Smartwatch has a touchscreen…much cooler.

I would kill to have this on Windows Phone 8. I had faith this was going to release but the WP8 vaporware watch is more than a longshot.
