Color us a little confused on this one, but we’ll never knowingly turn down a cool touchscreen tablet.  According to our tipster, you’re looking at the 8-inch wireless control unit for Hong Kong telecoms provider PCCW’s new Eye 2 service, which will blend multimedia services like NowTV, Moov and Snaap! with video calling.

Video of the device in action after the cut

The original PCCW Eye launched midway through 2007, and had a 4.3-inch display, stereo speakers and VoIP functionality.  It could also be used for home shopping, paying bills and general internet news access.

The videos below seem to have been shot on the set of an advert for the Eye 2 service; unfortunately my Chinese skills are decidedly lacking.  Still, they show the device – which has WiFi and a webcam for video calls – accessing streaming video and other information.
