Patent shows that Apple may be working on a UMPC or small tablet

Could Apple be working on a smaller UMPC or tablet to be released sometime in the future? If I had a nickel every time someone asked that I'd probably be rich. However, a recently discovered patent filed by the Cupertino-based company shows that they may be doing just that.

Apple has filed for a patent that describes a memory slot for a notebook computer that would greatly reduce the amount of space required for RAM. You would simply open an access door and slide in the memory rather than taking out a screw and clipping the chip down.

While this would certainly be beneficial for a UMPC or tablet, it would also make upgrading the RAM on your regular-sized notebook easier as well. Hopefully we will see this implemented sometime in the near future.
