Worth Reading?

NoYes

Could Apple be working on a smaller UMPC or tablet to be released sometime in the future? If I had a nickel every time someone asked that I’d probably be rich. However, a recently discovered patent filed by the Cupertino-based company shows that they may be doing just that.

RAM slot

Apple has filed for a patent that describes a memory slot for a notebook computer that would greatly reduce the amount of space required for RAM. You would simply open an access door and slide in the memory rather than taking out a screw and clipping the chip down.

While this would certainly be beneficial for a UMPC or tablet, it would also make upgrading the RAM on your regular-sized notebook easier as well. Hopefully we will see this implemented sometime in the near future.

Wow, that would be awesome if they decided to implement it soon. But if they are getting a patent then that probably means it is in the works. :-D
