It only has 10 hour battery life doing general websurfing… light stuff. Playing Super mario would probably cut its battery life in half.

The units on sale now are more expensive than the pre-orders, and for better or worse are leapfrogging some of them. :-b

The idea is that *MOST* of the batch 1 and batch 2 pre-orders will actually get their units faster. There may be some batch 1 guys who get there orders a little slower.

Great piece of kit, probably at the appropriate price now, but I suspect some fallout in the community, especially from some of the batch 1 guys.

So, those ordering now may actually get their units fairly quick.

Exactly…post this on GP32X and see if this is real….

With over a thousand units waiting to be shipped from pre-orders placed over a year ago…I’m not sure if you can order this and get it that quick…

Though if you could itd be f’in awesome and I’d cop one now…but I’m taking this with a grain of salt.

I don’t see why you’re comparing two totally different devices. The Pandora is basically a mini-computer that happens to have game controls. It also happens to have a ~ten hour battery life UNDER A FULL LOAD. Yeah, that means you can play Super Mario RPG for N64 in your hand… fullspeed… for around ten hours straight.

Totally different markets. The Pandora has dedicated community behind it focusing on different objectives. Competing with Sony and Nintendo is not a priority and of no real interest, so suggesting people buy a Pandora now instead of waiting for Sony’s handheld is ridiculous.

You forgot to mention that the device is essentially a full computer capable of running an entire desktop OS (linux, for now) and with it emulators for PSX, PSP, SNES, GBA, N64, etc…
I think the integrated keyboard is awesome.

Nor do the others have 10+ hours of uptime on normal use (gaming, browsing, whatever), a TV out port, or ability to accept any USB peripheral (joystick, camera, whatever).
