I own a Pandora as well as many other tech-gadgets... for what the Pandora is designed for, its still the only product on the planet, hands down the best in its class. You can do some stuff on a smart phone, but youll have no game controls or proper keyboard inputs for emulation. Its not dated, its still ahead of the game!

I've had my Pandora for over a year, it's a great gadget, one of the best I've ever owned. Really looking forward to seeing what happens when the rest of the community that have been waiting to get them finally has them in their hands- there's already so much excellent software for it, it can only get better.

I already have a Pandora, and for what it was designed for - there is still nothing on the market to compete with it. I have an Android smartphone (HTC Sensation) and the Pandora is the better gaming portable hands down!

Just to clarify one very important point
"I bet more than a few will be hacked for Android"This is not an iDevice, this is not your smartphone or tablet. There is no need to "hack" anything to install Android anymore than you have to hack your desktop to install Linux or any other OS (though I'm sure if Microsoft had their way you would have to). It's an open system, do with it what you want (within the confines of physical possibility, of course).
An Android port is available and requires little more than extracting the image onto a pre-formatted SD card. Unless hacking has taken a very mysterious turn and now includes basic computer skills such as formatting, unzipping, and copying files. The port apparently runs fairly well, but it's still very rough around the edges. This is due to not enough community developers interested in improving Android, with most more than happy with the Angstrom OS. With the new production run, it's hoped that they'll double the user base in a few months (and so far it is looking like it'll happen) some of which will certainly be interested in helping to improve the Android situation.

It's always been a niche device. The majority of those interested in it remain unmoved by newer big name handhelds, mobile based gaming etc. It's still the only Linux computer of its kind, and still has a very dedicated community behind it.

Just to correct one point: These have actually been shipping over the last couple of years. There would be a few thousand in the wild, at a guess. Endless manufacturing dramas have kept things at a trickle though. A completely new manufacturing base is set up in Germany now, so hopefully they're rolling out in bulk before long.
