LEGO Movie Oscar snub: not a tragedy

This morning it was made clear by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that The LEGO Movie wasn't up to snuff for their Oscars awards ceremony. The Oscars, previously known as The Academy Awards, have selected five (as always) nominees for Animated Feature Film including Big Hero 6, Song of the Sea, The Boxtrolls, The Tale of Princess Kaguya, and How to Train Your Dragon 2. Fear not though, LEGO lovers, the creators of the film aren't fretting - in fact, one of the two directors of the film has called this situation "not a tragedy."

Lego to release Wonder Woman’s invisible jet, sadly it is visible

Lego has announced that one of its sets to come out next year based on the DC Superheroes line will include Wonder Woman and her famed vehicle of choice, the invisible jet. Except the pieces used to build the aircraft are actually visible, and when you put them all together, they're still not invisible. Which kinda sucks. But there's not much else one can expect when everyone's favorite plastic bricks are still bound by the laws of science, is there?

1989 Batmobile replica is functional and street-legal

Batmobile replicas are nothing unusual -- they've been popping up for years, some of them going up for auction for generous sums of money, such as the one we saw last year. An Australian man has created his own replica, and it brings with it a unique twist: it is completely street legal, letting him drive it around wherever he'd like. Even better, the creator -- 29-year-old Zac Mihajlovic -- works with Make-A-Wish to dress up like Batman and let kids meet their favorite superhero in real life.

Christian Bale as Steve Jobs? Not gonna happen

If the upcoming Steve Jobs film based on Walter Isaacson’s biography of the Apple co-founder had you excited because of Christian Bale’s involvement, take a knee. It seems the actor has pulled out of the film, with The Hollywood Reporter noting he felt he “wasn’t right” to play Jobs. Though nobody was officially signed to play Jobs, writer Aaron Sorkin previously said it was a lock we’d see Batman as Steve Jobs, noting a meeting took place, but no audition was required.
