Will Nintendo get any attention this holiday season?

Nintendo is in trouble this holiday season. There. I said it. After all, someone had to, right?

With the gaming industry abuzz over the launch of not one, but two consoles in the course of a week, Nintendo has been trying to get at least some attention from the media. Like the person in the back row trying to be seen in a picture, there’s no getting out of the way of Sony's PS4 and Microsoft's Xbox One. And Nintendo doesn’t appear to have the firepower to change that.

Twitch bans Playroom from PS4 streams

Twitch bans Playroom from PS4 streams

The first and thus-far only game to be banned from Twitch from the next-generation console universe has appeared this week: The Playroom. After seeing one whole heck of a lot of non-gaming action appear though the stream with the game's augmented reality PlayStation 4 Camera setup, the folks at Twitch first gave a fair warning to the world on their pre-made rules on the subject. After much consideration though, they've decided to ban the game outright.

PlayStation Network passwords resetting now as precautionary measure

As early as last week on the 20th of November, users of the PlayStation Network (aka PSN) have seen their passwords reset without prompt. Killzone: Shadow Fall Review

Killzone: Shadow Fall Review

As one of the first PlayStation 4 exclusive launch-titles, and the only first-person shooter on that short list, Killzone: Shadow Fall had some high expectations to live up to. What we saw in previous installments of this series was a gritty bit of darkness, all-out war and killing with only the lights of the enemy's eyes to steer the player. Here we've dropped in on the planet Vekta, a lush, gorgeous environment where the two factions of humanoids, the Vektans and the Helghast, have continued what's effectively become a civil war.

PS4 Playroom DLC to bring more free play to weird Twitch feeds

If you've got a PlayStation 4 and have been following the story with live streaming with Twitch, you may already know the odd result of allowing the console's "The Playroom" app through the gate. What you'll see here is a barrage of users streaming the "game" trough Twitch with content both gaming-related and not, prompting Twitch itself to send our a reminder that only the former is acceptable through their site. The environment presented by Sony in The Playroom is about to get a big bump, as well, with two downloadable expansions in "My Alien Buddy" and "Toy Maker".

Xbox One broken disc drives amongst next-gen launch woes

Xbox One broken disc drives amongst next-gen launch woes

With every launch on a scale as massive as a gaming console like the Xbox One, launch woes are bound to happen. With the PlayStation 4, a set of odds and ends appeared in the "broken" category centering on what was nick-named the "Blue Light of Death". Here with the Xbox One, we could just as easily call the error the "Disc Drive of Death" due to the concentrated number of users complaining of just such a problem. Users have taken to Twitter with complaints as well, all to be found under the search term "clicking Xbox One".
