Samsung Unpacked at IFA 2011 Trailer 2 Released [Video]

Samsung Unpacked at IFA 2011 Trailer 2 Released [Video]

While we were pretty darn sure the first (leaked) video for Samsung's upcoming "Unpacked II" event, the second in a line of Unpacked events they're hosting this year at tech events around the world, this second (or first, depending on how you look at it) trailer has us guessing again. A calm summer blue sky, blurry trees, sunlight, some waves pushing in from the sea, an odd bit of metal and plastic connected at the seams -- looking like a weather vane quite possible, a slow moving girl with hair blowing in the wind, a slow moving boy with no shirt on and also some hair blowing in the wind, that same weather vane again, waves, and the phrase "Sketches of Your Desire."

Samsung Unpacked Teaser Hints at Galaxy S II Upgrade [Update: VIDEO]

What we've been lucky enough to get a glimpse of today is a teaser video for Samsung's "Unpacked" event at IFA 2011 in Berlin. The video at this very moment appears to have been switched back to Private, but what we've seen is essentially a new version of the Samsung Galaxy S II "light" videos which incidentally revealed to us our very first look at the Galaxy S II back in February. What we're basically betting the farm on here is that this is a slightly updated version of the Samsung Galaxy S II that's able to work with 4G LTE bands.

Here we start with the settings, this bit showing us what Samsung meant when they first teased the event beck on February 11th.

MWC 2014 wrap-up: Phones, Wearables and More

MWC 2014 wrap-up: Phones, Wearables and More

This year for Mobile World Congress was a rebirth of sorts, owing largely to the restructuring of Samsung’s release schedule, Sony’s continued success with their Z series, Nokia’s push of Android, and the next big wave of wearables. We’ve also seen brands like Lenovo and HTC push hard with devices that aren’t aimed directly at the top tier. This is an interesting time for smartphones and mobile devices of all kinds - it’s no longer just about the biggest and the best.

Samsung now has 200 million Galaxy smartphone customers

This week in introducing the fifth iteration of their popular Galaxy smartphone line, Samsung’s J.K. Shin suggested that the company now has 200 million customers using Galaxy smartphones. While Samsung wasn’t specific in the definition of this number, we must assume that they’ve got 200,000,000 active users on Samsung Galaxy smartphones now. That’s one massive user base.

Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo hands-on

Samsung couldn't wait until Unpacked 5 to reveal the new Tizen-powered Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatches, updating the wearables will heart-rate monitors and more compact designs. The original Galaxy Gear caught our eye at its IFA 2013 launch but failed to set the smartwatch world alight, but Samsung is hoping more refined versions will. We spent some time with both models here at MWC 2014; read on for some first-impressions.
