As the first Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview was only just released this April, the first update just a month later shows signs of quick progress for Microsoft. Not known especially for their quick-fire updates to this mobile operating system, Microsoft could very well be turning over a new page in their mobile software strategy.
Spotify has brought its streaming Radio service to Windows Phone, updating the app to support automagical playlist creation based on a seed song or artist. The feature, which is already been available on iOS and Android, debuts alongside a new UI for the app, which is a free download.

This week during Apple’s earnings call for their financial Q2 2014, Tim Cook spoke up on the impact of changing smartphone plans and the growing smartphone market around the world. How might this affect Apple and sales of the iPhone? Cook made clear that it wasn’t an easy question to answer.

Where exactly am I? That’s the question Nokia is facing, not in its position following the Microsoft deal that will see it shed its phone business, but in how it’s constructing the next-generation of mapping data that’s clever enough to give Google Maps sleepless nights. Launched on the iPhone 4S back in late 2011, and updated considerably with iOS 7, Siri has come increasingly under fire, first by Android's Google Now, and most recently by Windows Phone's Cortana.
Siri loves to give answers — often snarky — but she doesn’t do much outside of create reminders. The voice assistant for iOS is handy, but lacks a lot of curcial control that some have been wanting. Four fast-talking, enterprising freshman at the University of Pennsylvania successfully hacked Siri, creating an exploit that intercepts your queries and redirects them to apps called GoogolPlex.

CALTY cooked up the FT-1 concept after Toyota global president Akio Toyoda fell in love with the in-game version when he first played it, resulting in a car that teases the hotly-anticipated next-gen Supra.
