awesome. I’m buying this to replace my iPod touch 2G. I was considering the Galaxy S WiFi, but Apple products are the BEST in aesthetics and usability. Plus, I love iOS

Btw, I’m 15 and I’m developing websites since last year.
I’m thinking of developing a new, unique web application exclusive to tablets.

For several years I used a similar “Apple” device. It was a Nokia N810 with a 5″ screen running Mac OS 8.0 and HyperCard. It was awesome. I kept it with me all the time and used it constantly. If Apple provides a similar device, IMHO it will be a hit. I want one so bad!

I’m regretful I called anyone a “douche bag.” It was uncivilized. Ironically, I was a little miffed at Sshore123 for committing the exact same offense against the OP, and I shouldn’t have indulged my moral indignation in such an inane manner. My old Irish grandmother, who was rather…um…colorful, told me in her thick brogue, “If ye swap piss wi’ a skunk, ye come out smellin’ as bad!” I reek just now.

In point of fact, my tiny rant shouldn’t have been a rant at all, and it should have gone something like this:

“Sshore123, It doesn’t seem to me that David was boasting about his wealth at all because
hje inserted a smiley after his “why the heck not??” comment. I took the sentence as though he was perhaps poking fun at himself for his own extravagance. Who amongst us has not indulged our own techno-passions a little excessively from time to time?”

That’s what I should have written, but I didn’t, obviously. I detest bad manners on forums, and I’m big girl enough to admit that calling Sshore123 down in such a harsh manner was not my own most ladylike moment.

And, no, I’m not the OP’s wife. Just a not-so-innocent bystander who happened to surf in at the wrong moment and allow her fingers to babble. :-)

Well…. if it’s true, unless this 5 inch device can make calls, it’s pointless. I wouldn’t even bother with it. It’s about time someone make an “all-in-one” device that can be used as a tablet but also as a phone. Samsung could have been the first in North America but it looks like they decided to bend over to the carriers demands. Now Apple (again) has the prime chance to just step in and blow up the market with another killer product. Seriously, so many companies can’t be this stupid. It almost seems like they’re making Apple win.

300,000 apps aside, Apple has the winning product for the future of computing in the pad/pod design. The problem with establishing such a dominant paradigm is that massaging further advances is difficult, even for Apple.

RETNA is an obviosity. A camera, absolutely. The necessity of USB and SD, inevitable.

So what can we anticipate from a perfect wheel? Make it rounder?

I think battery life increases, increased durability, a waterproof option, and the overlooked addition of a MagSafe connector on the back would be my focus.

FWIW I would redesign the clip on the new Nano and put a mic on it’s edge, and Kapla!…. The new Nanophone!

Why do you need 12 ipods between you and your wife? Ok 2 touches for each hand I get that but what about the other 8 ipods? I need flash on my phone/ipod/ipad about as much as I need 12 ipods. If by some slim chance I find something that requires flash I still put down my EVO and go to the computer because the fact is that flash on my android phone still sucks. It sucks in quality, it sucks my battery and 99% of the time it crashes. Flash mobile is a waste of time.

IF Apple does indeed create a retina display iPad product, I MIGHT be convinced to get one, PROVIDED that Steve Jobs gets off his high horse and allows the use of Flash on it. Otherwise, it will still be a “no sale”. (and I’m a guy with 12 ipods, including 4 Touchs between my wife and I). NOTE TO JOBS: STOP, already, with your bitching about how “bad” Flash is.
