OUYA Everywhere puts platform on Mad Catz M.O.J.O. Micro-Console

Kickstarter success OUYA has made the jump from product to platform, with a deal that will put the open-source console's software on the new Mad Catz M.O.J.O. Micro-Console. Part of the startups' new OUYA Everywhere initiative, announced earlier this week, the agreement will mean all of the games and content that developers have released for OUYA will be available on the M.O.J.O. Micro-Console later this spring, along with a price cut.

Interestingly, M.O.J.O. itself was initially expected to be a direct competitor to OUYA. The compact console followed a similar strategy of giving Android developers a clear route to bring their smartphone and tablet games to the living room.

This content deal, however, will blur those distinctions. Even after the price cut to $199.99, Mad Catz console will still be more expensive than the $99 OUYA, though it will have access to content the cheaper version will not.

It's unlikely to be the last such agreement that we see OUYA ink. The company also suggested that it saw a place for its platform on TVs themselves, baking in Android gaming and multimedia duties rather than requiring a separate console.
