Orange is the New Black gets its own app

Orange is the New Black, Netflix's hit television series, has gotten its own app, giving users the ability to enjoy aspects of the show and get social with other fans from the comfort of their smartphone or tablet.

The app is available for both Android and iOS, and with it comes the ability to make a variety of memes and images related to the show's various characters — including one slightly disturbing one allowing you to insert your face in place of Piper's during a cuddle with frenemy Alex.

The app is free, and is seemingly a bid to promote the latest season of the show. The customized cards can be shared directly with popular social networking websites, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, as well as WhatsApp and over text message, among other things.

On Android users will need to be running at least 4.0, and for Apple users you'll need at least iOS 6.0.

In case you missed it, some industrious folks ushered in the recent arrival of Season 2 on Netflix with a parody involving a half dozen or so kitten, a handful of wigs, and a knife or two (and a laser point, as should be a staple in any feline-centric video).
