I have been using the Optimus Maximus keyboard since the end of 2009. It took me a while to get used to the feel of it, and learn all that it can do. However, now that I have, I love it! The company I work for has its own internal computer system and being able to adapt the keyboard "layer" to this system allows me to use far fewer keystrokes to get my work done. Being able to place an easily understandable icon on each key to indicate its function is much better than trying to remember what F1 does as opposed to F7. Then, when I switch applications, it goes right back to a standard layout flawlessly. I like the generally standard layout of this keyboard with the customary keys in the usual locations along with the number pad. From what I have seen of Popularis, I expect I will be keeping my Maximus instead of switching over.

A six button keyboard will be only slightly less useless than a three button keyboard.

I was very psyched about the Optimus keyboard back when it was first announced, but the price on them just makes the whole thing ridiculous - it's ~1600€ for the Maximus model and ~160€ for the Mini Three model.

The Mini Three model is just (expensive) novelty and even though the Maximus may be useful, at 1600€ the only ones who are going to buy it are people with too much money that want to show off. I doubt that even professional gamers are interested in it since they're much more likely to buy a keyboard based on feel and not whether or not you can have fancy icons on the buttons.
