because anyone one the planet who speaks another language besides english has to either put stickers or directly write with a marker on the keyboards. some people I know just have two keyboards taht they have to plug/unplug.
I have a serbian friend and a russian one who have keyboards with latin and cyrillic letters and its a mess.
All of them WANT the Optimus but a a decent price (seems like many would be willing to pay 200-300$ when prices come down). I doubt they would be satisfied at paying to do what they have been doing for years.

if youre an unilingual anglo, then you probably dont realize how necessary the Maximus is to people who speak more than just english.
but the Minimus is at best a step sideways from what they do now and I have doubts any of the people I have talked about this would go for it.
