Denon is way too expensive for my pay grade. Come’on now, $3800 for a universal blu-ray player? It;s niche product for high end market, while oppo will dominate the enthusiast market. But I’ll wait till they get their act together, profile 2.0 and the rest of the goodies before getting mine.

Could be “It”, the one and only BD player to replace my PS3 and my HDDVD for legacy DVD playback, since it will support 1080p 24hz upconvert…Sweet!

Now the questions are
-Will it permit region hack like the rest of oppo players?
-How soon can we can the rest of the updates on onboard HD audio codec and profile 2.0
-Blu-ray disc loading and BD-J interactive content speed.

I’m definitely looking forward to find out more on CES 2009.
