Stupid when people say Apple had an “early lead” as if it jumped the gun or had some unfair advantage.

Don’t forget tons of naysayers saying iPad would not fly, the name was bad, the concept was flawed, etc. They are nowhere to be seen now, and people talk as if Apple cheated to get ahead!

Apple did the hard work to invent a product people love and a whole new market which is now being filled with imitators.

Fake study.. I have an iPad 2 and in my high school I will say 3 out of 200 students have iPad 2..
Right now, I’m telling you that none of my classmates that have iPad 2… For example, if Biology class there is 10 students, and I’m only have iPad 2.. Why not there one more student to have it? means 2 out of 5???? COMPLETE WRONG STUDY.

But iPhone 4 is right to study.. Lot of students have iPhone 4.

I love the iPad two. I am typing this on it right now actually. I am also 17 and live in one of the wealthiest towns in NH and I am the only person I know about who has an ipad2. I know one person with an iPad1 and one person who will be getting an iPad2. This study is not based on iPad2 it is based on all tablets. Furthermore these statistics are misleading, and thoroughly incorrect and non representative. Therefore, This article should be removed.

Wow, kinda incredible!
And just read that Apple iPad 2 tops tablet ratings by Consumer Reports.and 2.6M iPad 2s shipped in March!
Have to say, Apple win again! And I believe it’s iPad year, this 2011~ See how many folks are on iPading everytime!

The iPad 2 is a remarkable commodity. It sells well. I was able to sell a few iPad 2 on my website. You can even get an iPad 2 free on my website if you follow certain conditions.

yeah, but forget the fact that you know some teens with blackberries. The numbers just aren’t possible. Even if every Ipad 2 ever made (roughly 2.5 million) were bought by a teenager, that would only be 8-10% of the 25 – 30 million teens in the U.S. Or 1 in ten. Not possible.

I couldn’t agree more, but they will keep on publishing Apple “news” until there are clicks and comments. The only way to get rid of the Apple advertising is to ignore those pieces and not comment on them. It’s difficult when you want a more informed opinion, but it’s worth it to maintain some intellectual hygiene.

Having said that, I will search for more Honeycomb. Or at least zombies.

1 in 5 teens where? You have got to be kidding me that anyone would take this article or those numbers at all seriously. I know far more teens that have Android phones or Blackberries (about 80% if they have smart phones at all…) than have iPhones–even if they own Apple iPods–and NONE of them have iPads let alone iPad 2s. Most of them have not even played with an iPad or seen an iPad 2 in real life outside of a Best Buy store.

This is, of course, just limited to teens within my circle of friends and family members, but I would tend to believe that such numbers are ridiculous…

I’m pretty sure that says 22% of the teens own a tablet doesn’t it? There are lots of other tablets than iPad2′s….or iPad’s for that matter

A lot of my friend have iPhones (I’m 16). None of my friends have iPads though. And there is no way that 1 in 5 teens have an iPad 2. According to a census from 2008, there are over 21 million teens 15-19 in the US. Due to the constantly increasing population, I would assume that there are around 25 million teens 15-19, plus 5 million (made up number) if you include 13-14 year-olds. That means around 30 million teens in the US. This article is saying that 6 million of those 30 million have iPad 2s. That’s simply a ridiculous number.

I don’t believe this. As a teenager, I only know one person with an iPad, no other teens with an iphone, and the only person with an iPad 2 is SEVERELY SPOILED and has 6 of them.

I’m going to call shenanigans on this one. I followed the long chain of links, but am unable to find any data about the actual survey methods used to come up with this number. That, and the end result is a link to Apple Insider.
