Olympus updated their co-invention with Fujifilm, the xD-Picture Card, with a faster M+ series in preparing for PMA 2008. The new Type M + xD-Picture Card offered 1.5 times fastest than previous version of Type M series when used with Olympus digital cameras. That’s about 3.75-6 mb/s in write and read speed. The Multi Level Cell architecture in M type xD media format is capable to produce up to 8GB of storage space but the new series is still stuck in a rather disappointing capacities of 1GB and 2GB model. Olympus has not disclosed pricing but both will be available in April.
