That Nvidia has better drivers things might have been true in the past. and am not the only one saying that, my gtx 460 has been complaining since launch day, telling me that it has low gpu usage and microstuttering. And the best part, it's a driver problem they say. don't buy into hype. it's true that times do and will change my friend.

the title for this article is just too funny. the 2 cards share blows back and forth in a few games. but in most games tested the 6950 is the winner. Nvidia must be paying you guys very well for such a headline.

Budget means nothing if the card doesn't suit you. Even if AMD offers a good raw performance/price ratio, their drivers will always be their downfall. Raw power can only get you so far, good drivers are what gets everything running smoothly

If you mostly play Direct X games, AMD is a good choice, but it sucks for everything else, especially OpenGL. Let's look at Crysis. Nowadays, what modern GPU can't tackle it? Still, it's not a lightweight either. What's shameful is when a GPU can tackle Crysis, but it chokes on something like Second Life or give artists issues with a Wacom Cintiq all because of crappy drivers.

The choice is simple. If your main focus is playing the latest Direct X 11 games, AMD is a good choice. If you're doing more than that, you're better off going Nvidia if only for the better drivers.

How come most of the benchmarks show the 6950 to be significantly faster than "The GeForce GTX 560 Ti" and you still listen to nvidia's marketing ... plus AMD has dropped the price on those 6950's which are now at the same price tag or cheaper than the new mid-entry-range 560.

And furthermore, 6950 CFX > 560 SLI, so there really isn't much going on in that market segment : AMD cuts the prices so bad nobody wants an nVidia under 500 euros, at which point they'll all pick a 580 because there is no competitive single card offering (they might still go for a 6950 cfx, which is the same price, faster but 400W total).

All in all, the market doesn't change much, nVidia brings new tech, AMD brings new price slashing, and remains the winner in all the market segments below [Dual Overpriced Best Graphics Board of the moment].

As usual, there is a radeon that beats every geForce for 20 - 30 $ less, there is no radeon that beats the geForce 580, but the 6950 crossfire x2 does it by a wide margin, so if we speak budget vs performance, the AMD title is untarnished, just like it is in the CPU business, where AMD hasn't held the performance crown for quite a while but hasn't ever been beaten by Intel in the sub-300$ cpu market.

Just quit mistaking marketing for actual information, it's just not the same thing.
