If input the Tegra 3 in power save mode, a5 is twice as fast. But of u put the Tegra 3 on max power, it’s only a little bit faster then the a5. Isn’t that interesting?

I’d rather have higher quality textures, and polygons than retina display on my games. 2048 x 1536 is insane for a small chip like the a5x, not even ps3 and Xbox 360 can go that high.

to see how this goes in real world test, but if we look at the numbers Apple have
shown, the new iPad graphics chip is just better than the iPad 2 by “2X” for a
screen resolution that is 4 times greater than the iPad 2. Apple have not given
spec numbers (and they rarely do) of the new graphics but it look like they
just added more cores of the same graphics chip. By this I expect to get the
same performance or less but with better resolution (which is good) but this don’t
give the option to the developers to add more details on games just the same
details at higher resolution. Now if they put this chip on the iPad 2 with its
lower resolution, then there you will get a real performance boost. All this
are just speculations with the information they gave.

have to wait that much; 2011 MBP that comes with Intel “i” series (i5, i7) just
have Intel graphics and the 2010 MBP comes with a Intel Core 2 Duo with NVidia
discrete graphics, plus VRAM memory (dedicated video memory), not shared like
the Intel’s graphics. So you can get better graphics performance from a 2010
MBP than a 2011 one, despite the i7 processor.

If the iPad has this performance, but only on an artificial test which is geared to run apple products well and nvidia poorly, the test will be technically true, yet still misleading.
