NVIDIA 3DTV Play Software Available Now

There are a few companies out there pushing for 3D technology to find nearly every facet of our technologically-focused lives. From our computers, to our video game consoles, and especially our TVs, the 3D revolution is an on-going push into the future from some of the biggest names in the business. NVIDIA is one of those companies, pushing for the 3D gaming experience as hard as they can, but until now mainly focusing on the computer end of things. Today, after unveiling the 3DTV Play Software all the way back in March, NVIDIA is announcing it's available now.

The general idea for the 3DTV Play Software, is that you want to enjoy your 3D gaming whenever you can, but sometimes you'd love to get it on your 3DTV, too. If you don't have a console that supports that feature, then NVIDIA's new option is your best bet. You just need a NVIDIA 3D Vision-enabled PC or notebook, and then you connect that to your 3DTV. The software will then run the games, in full 3D, right from your larger TV.

Making sure that NVIDIA covered their bases, the software is compatible with any NVIDIA GeForce GPU-equipped system. That even means if you're notebook's display isn't 3D ready, you can still make the magic happen on your 3DTV. To sweeten the deal, NVIDIA is also bundling the software with the brand new Dell XPS laptops, which feature Optimus technology and NVIDIA's GeForce 400M GPUs.
