Nuvo launches Ritmo baby sound system

I remember when my wife was pregnant with our kids. There was a glut of baby gear that you could buy to let you listen to the baby inside the womb from plain stethoscopes to fancy sonogram style gear. We also heard that playing music would make your baby smarter and that you could talk to the baby before it was born.

If you want to stimulate your unborn child's brain a company called Nuvo has unveiled a new sound system that shoots music into the belly of mom called Ritmo. The device is a fabric harness that has four speakers that attach above and below the belly.

The system has a control that makes sure the music is at the right level for the baby and then it plays music or other recordings to allow interaction with the unborn child. The device is compatible with the iPod and other music devices that play tunes. The fabric belt is washable and comes with an extender to allow moms to wear it throughout the pregnancy. The Ritmo system is priced at $129.99 while the introductory price lasts. The normal MSRP is $149.99.
