NuForce uDAC-2 SGE gets gold plated bling

Last September we spied a new headphone digital audio converter that was aimed at the audiophile called the NuForce uDAC-2. That device was available in black, red, and blue colors and promised to look good and sound good too. NuForce is back with the uDAC-2 SGE with a much more bling to its style. The device is called the uDAC-2 SGE or Signature Gold Edition.

The outside of the converter is covered in 24K gold plating making it shiny and cool to look at. The device also has a Swarovski crystal on the volume knob to mark the pointer for volume level. The adapter has an analog RVA output, digital coaxial output, and a 3.5mm headphone output. It measures in at 2.68" x 1.50" x .82".

The circuit board inside the device is enhanced using a cryogenic process. It has a double jitter reduction mechanism at data level and an oversampling filter stage. It also sports a 2V output and has analog volume control. It uses no capacitors in any of the audio signal paths. The device is powered completely by the USB port on your computer and is available right now for $399.
