When did you last take a bath?  No, I’m not saying you smell, I’m just wondering if you took your cellphone in with you.  Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo obviously thinks there are plenty of people who’ll pay for a handset you can splash around with, because among their new 704i range is the F704i, a waterproof clamshell that means you can have HSDPA access while wallowing in the tub.

Weighing just 104g, the Fujitsu-made F704i has a 2.2 inch QVGA screen, microSD card slot and 1.3 megapixel camera.  Also, unlike a number of Japanese handsets, it can roam on foreign 3G, GSM and GPRS networks.

It joins a range that includes TV-capable cellphones, illuminating handsets and high-spec cameraphones, all solely available in Japan and from a variety of manufacturers.
