The difference is this is NOT A VIDEO GAME. This is a training video , to teach you how to use this type of gun, safety and precautions when using. If you want to blame someone, blame the parents for letting young children play these types of violent games. Also not teaching their children about the safety of guns. We removed God from our schools, lets not let it be in vain.

Not sure where you’re getting your stats here. As of 2007 the U.S. is ranked 28th – slightly worse than West Bank & Gaza – for gun homicides per capita. I don’t think this stat has altered in five years by the magnitude that you suggest.

You’re close, but still miss by a bit ;-)

Of course those crimes are perpetrated by MENTALLY ILL people, and I said so in my first post. But what’s the difference between mentally ill Americans and mentally ill British, Australians, Spaniards or Canadians? Why, in nations with proportions of population affected by depression or schizophrenia similar to those of the USA, patients don’t end up shooting guns at their school or local theater? Because they don’t have access to those guns. Furthermore, because during the years when their condition developed, guns were *never* an option.

Sure, you can compare Columbine, Newtown or Aurora to the violence in Afghanistan or Somalia or to the “maras” (street gangs) in Central America, but you’re comparing apples to pears. And you can accuse me of carefully chosing my facts, because I’m doing it. Carefully and scientifically.

The mass killings in the USA can be compared to the 2011 Norway attacks by Anders Breivik. And should be. That tragedy was an exception in Europe and since then (2011-07-22) only another mass murder has happenned in Europe (Liège, Total: 6 people killed), while 6 have happened in the States (Newtown, Aurora, twice, Seal Beach, Tucson and Carson City. Total: 37 people killed).

USA and Europe have very similar sizes, cultures, economies, societies, population, health indicators… Yet mass murders by mentally ill people in the States are 500% higher.

I didn’t twist anything, its just that the actual facts aren’t convenient for your argument. You are firmly convinced that the guns are at fault, not the people holding them, and anything that proves otherwise is simply ignored (see liberal playbook manual page 33, paragraph 2 which states “Facts are irrelavent unless they can be used for our side. If they work against us, simply ignore them and discredit their sources”). The violent crime rate (rapes, assaults, etc. TRIPLED in parts of europe after they banned guns, but you love to quote how their gun-related crime is so much lower now. What does that help if people are still being victimized by violent offenders. A knife kills people just as dead as a gun. The bottom line can be summed up using your own quote: “what’s the difference? Guns, none other” If that’s the only difference, and it is all the fault of gun proliferation, then your entire argument doesn’t hold water, period.
And why wont anyone acknowledge that nearly all of these mass killings have been perpetrated by MENTALLY ILL people? Because we live in a victim culture…it’s not the fault of the person committing the crime, or the system that failed to identify them and help them, because that person is just a victim of the proliferation of guns in our society. What a bunch of crap.

I think this story is more or less about the NRA pointing the finger at video games and television, and then almost in the same breath releasing video game. I was a member of the NRA, as soon as my membership is up, I am out because of them blaming everything but the real issue, which was poor parenting and irresponsibility of people.

I precisely made the coparison to other *first world* countries/territories. These are the ones with the same culture and the ones playing the same video-games. Counting countries just by numbers is a trick because it includes lots of countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia that are in constant turmoil. I wouldn’t say that Sudan, El Salvador, Afghanistan or Mali have the same culture that we have. And how can their death toll be much higher while having less guns? Obvious: guns need not be “privately owned and registered”, of course. They come from gray or black markets. Do you really wish the USA to be compared to Somalia? To be on that league?

The comparison has to be made with the UK, Germany, Spain, Canada, Australia, Italy, Japan – countries that are really on a par with USA in terms of all the other factors.

More Real Facts: The United States ranks 1st in the world for per capita gun ownership (88.8 guns per 100 people privately owned and registered), yet ranks 104th in per capita murder rate out of 208 countries surveyed in 2012. If mere gun ownership is the problem, why don’t we lead the world in murders? If all cultures are the same, and the guns are the cause, we’d lead the world in something other than government debt. Guns don’t kill people…psycho nut-jobs do. If the guy had stabbed 20 children to death with a pencil, would we be talking about banning pencils, or registering pencil-owners, or limiting the sale of 30 packs of pencils? No.

Real Facts: European, Australian and Canadian top-selling video-game charts have the same games. Yet the number of violent deaths is many orders of magnitude lower.
If the culture is basically the same. If the movies are the same; the games, the music and even theMcFood is the same, what’s the difference? Guns, none other.
Not only they aren’t at hand when some sick kid wants to finish everything, they are never at hand when kids are growing up and developing their personalities. This simple fact keeps guns out of (almost) anybody’s fantasies, no matter how depressed or paranoid or schizoid they are. In the US of A, those illnesses grow and develop hand in hand with the potential use of guns in the mind of the unhealthy person.

They are hypocrites. They should be looking within their ranks on WHO shouldn’t be buying guns. I guess it’s a all or none with the NRA. Either blame all gun owners or none at all for the increased gun violence.

I’m a poster boy for who should have been a reckless mall shooter. With the exception of the crappy games I have practically played all the popular shooter games and mortal kombat. Yet I have never owned a gun or a single arrest for violence. You know why? Even when I was a teenager I could tell right from wrong and fantasy vs reality. I guess generalizing a group is a lot easier than tackling real issues facing the NRA with real solutions.

He doesn’t want to tarnish a brand that showcase US might or the facts that gun are used to take out pretty obvious bad guys. Why is he not using the game “Americas Army” that the US government developed? He doesn’t want real dialogue since the NRA will loose so much support.

I believe that everyone has to accept their own actions. I have done violent crimes that have been seen on games and movies. But that not why I did that. I did it by my own ignorant actions. Real facts: Crime has been decreasing 49% over 15yrs in the US while gun owner are on the raise according to FBI statistics. Why in the world would “people” wanted to strip away their “own rights” from bear arms is beyond me. This post is idiotic. You’re suggesting the NRA games are ‘violent’, yet no act of violence occurs in any of their titles. This simple title is a target-practice game, versus the multitude of games out there that are truly violent. Target practice with guns is not violent.

Also, shooting at varmints is not an act of violence, either. In fact, it’s perfectly legal (and recommended) in many U.S. states such as Wyoming.

Get a clue, and don’t try to make the NRA look hypocritical with posts such as this…
