Novatech offers cheap nFinity Ultrabooks

While several companies have tried to court US customers with Ultrabooks, none have really managed to hit an attractive price point for the features on offer. Those in the UK looking for a powerful but affordable Ultrabook might be best served by Novatech. The company has teased its new line of nFinity Ultrabooks online, as well as giving pricing and availbility.

All models will come in at 14-inches with a 1366x768 screen, admittedly not the greatest size to resolution ratio. The chassis is 18mm thick, and you'll find the usual connectivity options like HDMI, VGA, and 3x USB 2.0 ports. Each model increases in price as you bump up the processor and SSD options.

The base model costs just £429.98 (~$683), which includes a dual-core Core i3 2367 processor clocked at 1.4Ghz, 64GB of SSD storage, and 2GB of RAM. It's cheap for a reason, though: you don't get an operating system pre-loaded on the Ultrabook. If you want Windows 7 Home ready to go, you'll have to shell out an additional £90 (~$143).

The top model, meanwhile, includes a Core i7 2637 processor clocked at 1.7Ghz, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of SSD storage. Again, no operating system, but the £699.98 (~$1,112) price still makes it relatively attractive for UK buyers. ASUS' 11-inch ZenBook, for example, comes in at around £759 (~$1,205) with a slower processor and smaller screen, with the 13-inch version fetching around £1,000 (~$1,589).

The nFinity Ultrabooks are due to ship direct from Novatech on April 10th. Head on over to this link if you want to pre-order one.
