Nova Media just announced the iCON 225, a brand new USB modem for Mac users, making for a welcome addition for those looking for more connection options. This 3G modem offers up HSDPA connections that range up to 7.2Mbps for downloads and 2Mbps for uploads.

Other connections are included as well, such as GPRS and EDGE with a speed of 80kbps for uploads and 220kbps for downloads. The great thing about it though is that you can use it on any network, as it’s not SIM locked. That makes it a convenient choice.

Other features include launch2net, a connection program that makes installation easy, 8GB of storage by means of a microSDHC card slot, a USB extension cord and a lanyard. You can get the Nova Media iCON 225 USB modem now for Macs that run OS X 10.4.11 or higher for $160.
