It would actually help if you would look at the specs, it DOES have an expandable memory port via SD card. That is also the resolution of the LCD, the Pixel Qi screen has much better resolution, and battery life compared with the ipad. The ipad was a rushed product that was thrown onto the market (lack of camera/SD card slot) and eaten up by apple lovers, it’s more of a fashion statement that a useful product. The Adam Tablet truly is revolutionary and will have applications, compared with the lame duck of a product, the ipad. This is just my opinion though…

I was really going to get this slate, but Oh it only has 8GB on board…. well.. that’s an absolute deal breaker. These tablets should come with at least 32 or 64GB with option to further expand the memory via SD card.
Sorry Rohan, if you want this thing to catch on, increased the Memory, 8GB is unacceptable to a large number of people, put an 8MP swivel camera, and improve the resolution of the screen, what the heck it’s even lower than that of the iPad that’s a year old
Oh well, I’ll keep an eye out for a better tablet, maybe the Motorola Xoom.

I just read on the website that the memory is expandable to up to 128gb! That is quite a feat! But the details are still scarce.

In any case, the media in Europe is reporting that the tablet is available from the 9th of December.

Awesome piece and one with encouraging specs. However, is it just me or has the internal memory been shrunk? In all the previous posts by NI, they specifically mentioned either a 16 or 32gb internal flash memory, now it say 8+.

Am I missing something? Is the “+” the only indicator here that they might have a bigger internal memory?

Yes, this is not even the same category as the other Android tablets.

See the Toshiba Folio. It is just not enough to take the Tegra2 dev board, chuck it into a casing and try to sell it hoping that your brand name will make it sell.

The Adam looks like a carefully designed and implemented product. Their blog posts speak volumes about their mentality in a very positive way.

Gosh, if their Android apps are really so good, I won’t wipe their Android instance, I will only install Ubuntu ARMEL as a dual boot option.
