Funny, I had a negative post about Adam’s shipping delays and frustration involved with waiting and dealing with the constant push backs on the release date. I had exactly 16 thumbs down… just like you… I’m wondering if the notion ink crew gets paid to monitor the websites… Anyway, I gave you a thumbs up to help offset.

Good point. Keyboard is good to have. None of the netbooks ive seen are affordable touchscreens + light + sturdy + 9 hours+ battery + HDMI out + pixel qi. But ive been interested in book readinfg & sketching & surfing and video watching.The power consumption works out with tegra + android. I think a netbook easily could meet all my requirements though. Tablets may very well spawn better netbooks.just the right configuration needed.I’d jump on the right netbook.

For one you can’t just legally show video footage of a film. You have to get rights legally. Nit worth the risk..they should be showing videos from blenderfoundation. Those are open content free to use and good samples for this. I don’t care what it is really though as long as the port works.

Battery life may be a consideration. Pixel Qi should take less juice especially w/ backlight off. Don’t know differences with backlight on. But I recall as part ofolpc it did use less juice. LCD will be a noticeably better pic.

good to see Notion Ink bringing some unique UI elements to Android. Overall the tablet looks good however, I’m still wanting to see a device that easily integrates a tablet with keyboard into a netbook type of device that’s also easy to travel with–not a bunch of bits and peaces thrown together. Tablets are great and fun most of the time but a keyboards is a must at times. . .

I was one of the first to praise NotionInk for posting the first Adam videos, and did not mind the home-made quality. But this is now the 5th-6th video, and I believe we have seen enough of home made footage. They should either stop or do something a little more professional.

I have repeatedly asked to see a clock while demoing so that nobody could claim that the videos are sped up to create a false impression of responsiveness of the device. NI ignore my posts (or delete them), newly-minted fanbois shout insults at me… Why not just do it once and get it over with? Even this video was chosen as if to be unusable to see the actual speed… I find all of this annoying, and so should you…

why is it annoying? It’s simple demonstrations of the features of the tablet. I just want to see how it works, not watch a big fancy cooked up production. What’s been released so far has been quite good, and I look forward to watching more.
What does the choice of video matter? It was odd… I’ll admit, but nothing to get annoyed over.

Don’t forget the goodness it bring to eyes compared to LCD though not as great as e-Ink screen.

In this case, you likely don’t need the PixelQi version because the “use-in-sunshine” is its main feature.

However, I believe, the PixelQi version has a low-power, low-colour operating mode which lengthens the battery runtime (you can switch to this manually).

The Pixel Qi also extends the battery life enormously. If you are e-reading then you don’t need full colour. Being able to read in direct sunlight is only part of the benefit. Not worrying about the battery at all for weeks is even better.

Just need some clarification here regarding my purchase – If I am not that kind who will use Adam as an eReader, and will definitely not be carrying it out in the sunlight, is there any reason I should go for a Pixel Qi over LCD?

I am just trying to see if there is anything else that PQ does better which will require me to not just shell out more money, but possibly wait longer to make an order as well..
