Well, i am still waiting for the first review of Adam tablet on Youtube. Now with the release of blacberry playbook I really want to know if the Adam Tablet is worth the money.
Could someone tell me if it’s been deliverd yet … Anyone ?

ive been following this all of november made some early posts and i didnt receive the early preorder option i dont know why maybe because i wasnt a register wordpress user idk but i do know i wouldnt have used it.. blackberry playbook wont be released til q1 and they have a ten minute video on this site, NI could have done that then pre orders would have gone through the roof but no ROHAN wanted to keep stuff secret, yeah this may be a great tablet and the only way they would dominate before 3.0 was if it got out and people started talking about it then it would have an amazing rep before android 3.0 and it would be even better after that, but since not many will preorder no one will know the greatness and since we have to wait til q1 we might as well wait for tegra 2 android 3.0 tablets to come out… these guys could have done some major damage on ipad2 sales next year..idk and then i thought the tablets would be usps in the us whats up with $50 dhl??? ill wait til reviews are great and a store in the us has them so i dont have to pay that rediculous shipping:D

I guess you rather bitch than read the specs that contain most of the answers you seek. In the time you wrote your post you could have read the specs page that answers most of your questions. Have you ever seen Apple publishing their production schedule or internal management docs? Anyway, if you’re not sure why not buy any of the other tablets out there? I bet you know exactly how many Galaxies Samsung produces and what parts can rattle on an iPad.

Got my pre order done !! Happy and just bit tensed about what I am going to get !! But guys… for the first time.. India and Indians came out with some really innovative idea.. I thought it was worth risking $600… if I get what promised.. I would be happiest.. !! And if anything below par… will still be satisfied to spend money for my fellow researchers !! :)

You can’t ask for a chargeback after 1month. That’s why they have paypal. You CC company will tell that u were irresponsible and wont give ur money back. So u ll have to chase ur money.

By the way, the FCC has cleared this product electronically, so at the very least, all the specified electronics are there: battery, wifi, 3g, etc. Software wise, yes a video would be nice.

Just use a credit card, and if they don’t come through… get your cc company to do a chargeback since they didn’t actually come through with a product.

Well. Pre-orders have been officially up for almost an hour now. Still no sign of any concrete media the Adam exists, outside of the early prototypes from CES 2010, and Notion Ink’s word that it does.

Don’t get me wrong, I want this thing to be real. But at the same time, momma did not raise you fools – well, at least not me. Notion Ink wants $500 of my money, then they need to put up, it’s as simple as that. Too many other Android tablets and notebooks hitting the market over the next three to six months featuring Pixel Qi screens, for me to blow my wad early on one that may not even exist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z03hlZThveI

So Notion Ink needs to come correct with it. I got the money to burn, no problem. But whether I burn my money with Notion Ink, or one of these other competitors, is largely how forthcoming Notion Ink is from here going forward. Second, and second that. I read and re-read this morning’s NI blog post and can’t shake this impression that the language used to describe the Adam-Android connection is purposely vague. The only thing that seems to be clear is that Adam uses an Android kernel, but beyond that, the post seems to go about comparing Adam vs. Android as if they were, I don’t know, competing or something. Even the ‘honeycomb’ term seems to be used as a metaphor (for the ‘views within views’ feature) rather than as an actual name. for Android 3. I’ve been an apostle of this thing from day one, but there are way too many warning signs here to ignore. At this point I’m afraid, and I can’t be the only one, that Adam may turn out to be a very polished one- or six-trick pony. Maybe their dream is that by the time they get to Abel, NI will be an Apple-like powerhouse, but at this point my gut is screaming scam and wants me to buy an iPad out of despair (that was a joke, haha, fat chance).

Damn guys. Getting a little heated over a freaken computer. You don’t have to pre-order the thing. Hell wait until you can see it in person. Truth is I’m sure he will answer all of those questions when the pre-order becomes available. It’s not even time yet. Give these guys a break man they’ve been working there butts off in order to bring you guys an iPad killer here. Show a little love and don’t be so impatient. There a new company of coarse things wont go perfect. Just chill out and enjoy the show that is sure to come. Look out for the little guy (Notion Ink) who is trying to challenge the idea of what a computer company should be.

I think when the Pre-Order Info goes live everything else else should be available by then on the website (i don’t think preordering will be via the blog) There are tabs for Software and Genesis which should be updated about the same time as the update for pre-ordering.

Just assuming, but how should i know….am just a 300 pound hairy gorilla!

@palehorse: It doesn’t matter, pre-orders are for tech enthusiasts who have money to waste. Videos of the real products will come soon after the real release, so if you are scared to waste your precious 500$, you can wait until then.

Personally, I am not scared to lose 500$ so I ll order it.

@Pale Horse is absolutely on the money here. When/if I get a preorder email if it doesn’t include a few videos, do you realize how scary it would be to put down $600. Lets say I know I can still just put stock android on it, that doesn’t mean the hardware components are fully good to go. On the one hand, I believe it will work and nothing good comes from selling a shoddy product. Plus given the credit card used, you could maybe just get your money back on the purchase. On the other hand it’s a big question, why aren’t those videos out.

I honestly can’t believe that so many people are willing to fork over hundreds of dollars for a product they haven’t seen since the alpha-stage of development. That’s just nuts…

I have been following this thing for a year, and I’ve pointed every fellow-geek I know to the website, blog, and other news regarding Adam… and I absolutely love everything I’m reading and hearing!!

But… there are just too many outstanding questions at this point. I can’t bring myself to spend $600 on something with so many mysteries.

ROHAN, why aren’t you responding to some of these very pointed questions?

1. WE ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NEED TO SEE VIDEOS/PHOTOS OF THE FINAL PRODUCT.

2. If pre-ordering, when will the credit card be charged? At the time of the pre-order, or at the time the item ships?

3. What forms of payment are available?

4. What is the estimated shipping date — to customers — for the first batch of pre-ordered Adams? (ANSWERED… kinda… sorta… “around the same time as CES 2011″)

5. When will the first review units arrive at Anandtech, Slashgear, and other reputable reviewers?

6. Does the final version of the Adam have a rear touchpad?

7. What max resolution does the camera record?

8. How much memory comes pre-installed on the Adam?

9. Does the inter-changeable color strip rattle, or does it fit tightly?

10. What is your estimated production schedule (Adams/month)?

11. Will the Android Market be available on the Adam at launch?

12. Does NI have a trouble-ticket and technical support system in place?

13. Will you be opening a standard discussion forum for the NI Adam where we can interact with, and receive direct support from, the engineers at NI?

14. Are you planning to partner with any outside retailers, or will the NI facilities in India be the only location for all sales/support?

15. What are the warranty details for the Adam?

16. How/where will repairs, replacements, and returns be handled by NI? Will NI cover shipping to/from the NI facilities for warrantied repair services?

17. Who has NI partnered with for officially-endorsed peripherals (ie. cases, adapters, screen protectors, keyboards, docks, etc)?

18. What are the exact contents of the box that will ship with the Adam?
