While I am excited and as a previous poster on the blog, eligible for a pre order, I will say that anyone stupid enough to place a pre order for a product that has not been fully tested needs their head read.

I do want this tablet to be a success, but buying something without even so much as an online user review of the final product is just ridiculous.

For god’s sake, cut this nonsense already — with the possibility for external storage, internal memory variations are completely irrelevant. Just get the SD card that suits your needs/wallet best. When your needs change, get a new SD card (as opposed to a new tablet).

1024×600 is the resolution the PixelQi screen has – but it has 3072 x 600 in black/white mode.

Smartphones have tiny screens which you observe from a smaller distance, hence you need the higher resolution. At 120 ppi, the ADAM is better than most mainstream 15″ laptops (which are around 100 ppi).

Plus, you seem to be forgetting the Pixel Qi display with transmissive, transflective, and reflective modes — you won’t get that in any other tablet any time soon.

The ADAM will be perfect as an e-reader in both direct sunlight and low-light conditions.

I was pretty interested in this for a long time, but lost a bit with the low screen resolution. I’ve said it elsewhere, but with 3.5″ smartphones having 800×480 or 960×640 screens, 1024×600 is criminally low res for a 10.1″ screen. Still a very nice tablet, but I’ve gone from “I NEED THIS” to “would be nice”.

With the Gingerbread upgrade, will they be getting Market access as well?

Hi Chris,

Think the comparison to the tab’s UI is a bit much.
The adam seems to have been thought out very well eg: the calender app.
The only point of debate is which screen to go for :)
Plus it’s the only version of android that has it’s UI accelerated by tegra (what this means for battery life am not sure) which I am hoping is really fast.

Depending on how $498 translates into my wallets pitifull sterling i will be ordering one tomorrow. Also going on the presumption they are actually going to have some hands on videos. In a prefect world we would find that Slash has had one for afew weeks and will give us a preview tomorrow (cant ask for a review until retail units ship to be fair).

Has there been any word on the actual release? If I order is there any chance of it reaching my hands before Christmas?

As for the internal memory, it was said there woul be varients however the new notion ink website it simply says 8gb+.
