I saw one article that they are going to release the ADAM on November…
But they didn’t mention what year :-)…I was thinking may be the investors are waiting for EVE before they release this product. So they bite the “apple” but iPad 7″ will be released on Q1 2011 and they may over come what ever issues they have and they may kick Adam from the business that they are eye-ing for.

ADAM pricing announced. As said earlier the ADAM will come in 3 version:-
1. WiFi+3G+A-GPS version: $498
2. WiFi + either (3G or Pixel Qi): $449
3. WiFi only + LCD screen: $399

Don’t expect people to check context of what you’re trying to say by themselves. Say what you’re going to say, then say it, then say what you’ve said.

BTW, I’m actually not sure what the sentence you corrected is really supposed to say. It seems the author really tries to say that the Adam *had* been pushed back due to Tegra problems if the investor thing would not have gone wrong. But we’re all somehow very lucky now because the push-back to August did not happen because now, due to the investor problem, is was shifted even further than that…

But maybe thats just my bad reading comprehension..

Totally agree, your pricing structure is flawed because it does not offer the other options such as 3g capabilities which will not be put in the standard model.

I wouldn’t mind if your wishes came through, but I think that defining models based on built-in storage is meaningless when you also offer a MicroSD slot. The specs on the NI site list only two options: 16/32 GB.

The latest statement from Rohan Shravan (CEO Notion Ink) confirms that there would be 3 flavors of the ADAM, all of which would cost less than $499!!

I was also hoping for earlier than November. Otherwise, why would they write a blog post saying the rumors about November are not true? There’s been so many rumors about the launch, the only reason to care about this one would be that its overly pessimistic… Right? Right???

IIRC, the LCD-version is also a bit more thin.

However, I agree that the numbers are rubbish. Its gonna be $398 and $474.3141, I’m sure of it.

Too optimistic, I think. I expect larger differences in prices for different models. Otherwise why would anyone buy the 4GB model or the non-PixelQi?

Here’s what I think\hope the pricing will\should be:
For the LCD only models: 4gb at $330, 16gb at $360, and 32gb at $400.
And for the Pixel Qi version: 4gb at $400, 16gb at $435, and 32gb at $475

Actually, from what I’ve heard the $350 model will not have the pixel qi screen and a few other components. To get the full Adam, you’d have to pay like $800.

When they wrote about some new investor in the blog I thought – So what? We’re getting new investors and projects all the time?!

With this context I feel very different. It seems they make good decisions in management as well as technology and stick to them despite the ignorance of mainstream. This could really be the start of a great product and company.

However, in the timeline I’m missing the OLPC at the start and a long valley of ignorance, sprinkled with various types of netbooks. OTOH PixelQi only recently started mass production and we probably still would have waited until early this year…

That was the first solid peace of information about Adam and Notion Ink in months. Thank you. An amazing story, reads like a thriller.

The Adam specs look ridiculously amazing. I am used to mainstream products (especially in this price range) almost always containing a spoiler, usually to accommodate the taste of the masses. But Adam, on paper at least: pure inspiration! Can’t wait to check out the real deal. And, of course, to see if it becomes a mainstream product.
@Chris: in the next installment, could you maybe give us some Adam specs that are currently missing, like RAM memory size and HSDPA bands supported?

ADAM is definitely one of the most awaited tablet. Besides running Android, it has tons of cool stuff, like a swivel camera, back-trackpad, Pixel-Qi screen and above all it’s probably gonna cost somewhere around $350… the only problem, they have been pushing the release date ever since :(

I hear Notion Ink now says the launch date is November 2010, and there might be more than one tablet for different price points and hardware. One with TFT LCD, one with Pixel Qi…. there are also rumors of a Notion Ink Android Phone in the works…
