Nook Color/Tablet is a fine alternative to a “real” (ie: ipad) tablet. It works great. You can read stuff, watch movies, get your email, tweet, etc. I feel sorry for anyone who does not know how to perform a simple five minute hack to open up the system to full android.   Steve Jobs said they’d never make a 7-8 inch tablet and now Apple is prepping one. Apparently lot’s of folks dig the smaller form factor.

]]> By: Andrew http://www.slashgear.com/nook-tablet-and-color-get-new-official-apps-22204150/#comment-166063 Andrew Thu, 22 Dec 2011 16:54:00 +0000 http://www.slashgear.com/?p=204150#comment-166063 I have a nook tablet and put the Amazon appstore on it.  If only using the Nook store you have maybe 80 apps that are not a book or magazine type app.  Even those are limited as well.  Everything has a price to it, maybe 10 are free.  Putting the Amazon store on it makes it actually usable.  Not sure if anybody else hates the browser it uses by defualt, but it is horrible.  Put Dolphin HD browser on there and have a great browser to use.
