Sources had suggested that there'd be no sign of the well-rumored Nokia-made Yahoo! Phone at the two companies' press event this morning, and sure enough it's all about Ovi services. Asked in a Q&A whether there would be a Yahoo! phone, Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo told reporters and investors "No, no, that is out of the scope of the announcement."
It's unclear - and we wouldn't be surprised if that was the intention - whether by "outside the scope of the announcement" means there's no such device on the cards or that it's merely not on the agenda for today's presentation. Frankly, we wouldn't be surprised to hear that Nokia and Yahoo! had been exploring some sort of co-branded device, though whether that would actually be a real platform - like Google's Android - or merely a logo exercise would remain to be seen.
