I am so surprised. Symbian enthusiasts who made up 20 percent of the world cellphone market are told "Your platform is dead. We will be killing it off as soon as possible and moving away from QT and our development base. Oh and we will be moving from an extremely open OS to an extremely closed OS, and that OS will not be programmed well at a core level" (see Intel's comments).

It was painfully obvious moving to WP7 gained no time considering the original news release said "MeeGo will not be commercially ready until at least 4th quarter of 2011, and(in a separate release) Nokia's move to WP7 will not happen until fourth quarter 2011." This was one of those WTF moments.

Now their New CEO has realized this he is backpedaling and saying "Symbian will actually be awesome almost indefinitely, it will, it will..."

Like I've said for months, Nokia will be walk away with 7-10 percent of the smart phone market once they have adopted WP7 and they will be competing on basically equal footing with all other WP7 manufactures (thank you cross licensing!) which is what their old CEO deemed pissing in your pants for warmth(I agree!) and yes 50 percent of the world would have been a better choice for CEO including myself, without question. You want to fix it? Get a better new CEO, though it may be to late.
