Elop is a lousy CEO, I understand his strategy (he is a former MS employee after all) but all the execution is quite bad, announce the strategy a year prior of releasing anything and with several products ready to launch (proclaiming such products are dead or garbage). Later on when the N9 and N950 was released (because Nokia comitment with Intel) he decided to release the N9 in small countries which will make the phone a sure flop, and not releasing the N950 for sale, also claiming no matter what the N9 is the last MeeGo. Even though the press and public loved the phones.

Surely he will make history, Elop will be studied in text books from now on.

I'm actually excited to see this happening, I always love the story of Apple vs IBM and vs MS, but that I studied in school, now I can a real big BIG case happening, I'm sad because I actually like Nokia, they where ahead of time long ago, the N-Gage, the smartphones, the cameraphones, everything they invented.

Also I want to conclude, that event though I understand Elop choice of WP7 (he knows nothing else coming from MS) I don't like it, how an OS that sells thousands phones monthly can save a company that was growing in sales by millions of phones (they were losing Market share but still growing in shipments, incredible right, just look their numbers from befor Elop)

Ego, pre-employer loyalty has no place in innovation. Elop's direction may generate more windows mobile phone sales and higher sales of Nokia handsets, but not nearly as much as if he kept Nokia's brand identity in tact. Elop should have injected better resources into Meego without resorting to an OS Launch partner like MS who really doesn't know how to launch ANY product. If anything, they may take a bite.out of the falling RIM enterprise business, but will not steal share from Android or iOS devices.
