Last we heard of Nokia’s N9 it was a mysterious unannounced device near the peak of the Finnish company’s roadmap “house”; now we’re being asked to believe that this monochromatic slider is the handset itself.  A new video purported to show the N9 in pre-release form has emerged, tipping a device similar to the N8 only with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Interestingly, Eldar Murtazin – of notorious phone leak fame – reckons the N9 prototype he’s seen looks pretty similar to what’s pictured in this video, which could either be a shot in the arm for the footage’s legitimacy or a sign that Nokia’s industrial design is so well understood that anybody can create a suitable knock-off.  We won’t argue that a QWERTY-blessed version of the N8 would be pleasant, however, so here’s hoping that Nokia deliver.
