Nokia N8 debut in April, launch in September?

Remember the device purported to be Nokia's N8-00, spotted well in advance of its rumored commercial launch later in 2010?  According to one of Engadget's "trusted sources", the smartphone – which totes a 12-megapixel camera, HDMI output and a capacitive touchscreen – will be launched as the Nokia N8 in the middle of April 2010.

Such a timescale wouldn't coincide with any trade shows, but it would be right on schedule for Nokia's Annual General Meeting.  The presumption is that the firm want to whip out the N8 to impress financial backers and assuage any concerns that devices like the HTC EVO 4G and the next-gen iPhone might eclipse them.

Previously, notorious insider Eldar Murtazin has tipped a September release for the Nokia N8, claiming to have seen the physical handset himself.  We're certainly quietly optimistic about the smartphone – assuming Nokia can do good things with the Symbian^3 OS' UI – so April can't come soon enough, frankly.
