Pink? Just kidding. I can’t seem to put down my Lumia 900. This is a replacement of the ip4s. Someone please help me putting down this phone.

Seeing as how the Lumia 800 and N9 already sport the EXACT same hardware design, I really don’t know how this can still be lauded as being “startlingly original”. Yes, it looks nice, but we’ve seen the design around awhile already.

Other than that, it’s a good mid-level smartphone for people who prefer a simple OS but at a good price. Could be better, could be worse.

just couple more apps due to existing for longer, just a matter of time thing, but on software quality level and overall though-through design, Windows Phone offers a much better foundation and gets tasks done simple and quicker!

The video looked exemplary…esp with the sun setting , WOW.Great phone for the money (free)
That being said , I`d wait for an Apollo-based “HALO” phone.
This phone is just a placeholder until Apollo phones are released.
Upgrade to Apollo ? Not if AT&T has anything to do with it. They want to sell you a new phone.

Well, aside from getting the screen size around, and letting “a power button and a much appreciated dedicate power button” escape even a casual edit, this was a great review. I believe he meant to say “dedicated camera button”, unless I’m incorrect and there are two power buttons and he just really likes that second auxiliary power button. Editing! A lost art in web-writing.

Well what makes the Atrix 2 so cool is the webtop dock. Otherwise, it’s just another Android phone. A lot of Android phones have niches to them that attract buyers (the Note’s 5.3″ screen, the RAZR’s uber-thin design, the Atrix’s – awesome! – ability to power a computer, etc.) who could use that feature. Android sorta-kinda plays second fiddle to a lot of mainstream buyers, and the unique feature is what makes the first impression.

The Lumia 900 is a different story; the phone’s hardware augments the key seller, Windows Phone (Mango, Tango, Bravo- Roger that?). The camera helps, too.

The gloss white is gorgeous and doesn’t look like every other phone out there. Cyan looks cheap to me and certainly isn’t professional looking if one needs it to be like I do.

Earbuds should be a requisite item with this device, maybe there will be enough new Lumia 900 users that will demand earbuds as part of the package…who knows, maybe Nokia will capitulate and supply them free at a later date. My guess is Nokia and AT&T are trying to give as little as possible, and earbuds add up, considering how many Lumia’s they end up selling.
If, this device fails to meet consumer standards, that could be a bit of a problem. It seems to me that Nokia left out a few items with this device that may prove their undoing.

I see what you mean. However, only some of the first Lumia 800 batches were in need of the firmware updates. This was not a widespread Windows Phone, Nokia or even Lumia 800 issue.

The latest Lumia 800 firmware update has been available for a few weeks and by now we do know that the battery issue is fixed and that Nokia cares.

The keyboard issue came with Windows Phone Mango and was quickly fixed with the latest update. A matter of far less than 18 months.

Regardless, I agree, those with issues ought not to have it in the first place and should not have to depend on their carrier for updates.

Regarding nobody saying anything, stakeholders don’t want to hurt Windows Phone 7 and 8 sales by saying too much too soon.

I’m sure the hardware specs look impressive to anyone who has stuck it out with windows mobile or RIM, but compared to any mid -> top android offering, or the iPhone, it just isn’t very appealing.

AT & T’s own Motorola phone…the Atrix 2….offers as much as the 900 in general. As far as storage, display, camera and app ecosystem…the Atrix 2 offers a lot more…for the same $ 99.00. The Nokia hardware is very attractive and stylish. But is that reason enough to tie yourself to the rest of the product for 2 years. I don’t think so.

With the battery problems on the Lumia 800 and the disappearing keyboard issue on some WP7 handsets with Mango, you might be well advised to let somebody else try it first.

And then there’s the question of if the platform is going to be abandoned when Apollo comes out, scheduled just six months from now. Nobody’s saying anything, and that’s not a good sign.
