Been using the lumia 800 for over 5 days , the downside is, it is more likely to be the ios. (which is disqusting)
- sides
Alarm does not ring when switched off.
Cant charge the phone switched off ( Turns On after connenting the charger)
Cant transfer shit without Zune
Still could not manage the contacts backup feature.
No flash
+ sides
Great screen , after looking at the screen of this, you cant even stand looking other phones screen.
No , lag , ultimate speed for a single core
Fun to use ,
Battery is like 1 and a half days for normal usage(switched off at night ) , For hardcore using from 09:00 - 00:56 % 5 left. At least 2 hours talk , internet , listening to music all day playing.

There's a basic problem with the premise that a lot of "First Time" smartphone users will buy the Lumia 900. There are a lot of people (my wife among them) who have NO INTEREST in ever owning a smartphone (60% of phone owners do not own a smartphone). Until carriers stop charging (what's the chance of that - NOT) a premium just to own a smartphone (no matter how little data you may use) the idea that there's a large number of dumb phone/feature phone users chomping at the bit to own their first smart phone is a fallacy. And I think MS and Nokia are going to have a hard time getting people to switch to WP7. This reminds me of the Mac users of the 90s wondering why PC users would struggle with DOS. Well, the fact that it had Lotus 123, multiple options of word processors, easily expandable, and everything from a cheap PC to a top of the line work station. With Win 95 you had something that was close to Mac ease of use and brought a GUI to the masses at an affordable price.

Elop abandoned Meego even though we can all see the N9 has a very good operating system that got really good reviews for its user interface.
Elop abandoned Symbian even though all it needed was a new UI and the Belle update proves this.
^Because he is simply a trojan horse for Microsoft plain and simple and he is an abuser of capitalism because he is laying off thousands and moving manufacturing to China.
And he bites the N9 design for MS phones. He looks like a chubby little Ihop chef. He is a piece of crap ruining Finland's income.
These windows phones could have been meego phones and the apps and ecosystem as he calls it would be all built around QT and would be much larger by now and you could still have used html5 as much as you wanted.

Type into google "compare N9 with lumia 900" at the esato link on the chart disregard where it says N9 does not have a fm radio because it does and I'm using right now as I type this.
You will see N9 has a longer standby time and talk time, the lumia has a better front facing camera, N9 has higher resolution screen, N9 has twice the ram and 64gb hard drive versus lumias 16gb, disregard wrong info about N9 not having rss reader and I think it can do other format ringtones via 3rd party software, and lumia has 1.4gh processor where N9 is 1ghz
Basically N9 has more ram storage and better operating system and will be overclocked soon to probably the same speed as the lumia 900.

Seriously? In what way are they remotely inferior? Are you high or just stupid? Even if you just go by hardware the 900 is superior or matching in every way to the N9. And it has a far more extensive ecosystem as the N9 has...none.

"So what good is a smartphone if its operating system limits its hardware?"

Microsoft can't win at all with some people. Windows Phone OS is fast and light only requiring 256mb of ram, but people complain that the hardware is not dual core. Speed and battery life is what matters. Would you prefer a bloated OS that requires dual core? In any case, a new version of Windows Phone arrives in the fall for spec addicts.
