Saying WP7 is dead is silly. The path forward is pretty clear for Windows Phone. The amount of developers behind the platform is going to be larger than all other platforms combined because WinRT apps will run on all Windows devices and computers.

Nokia is also the biggest phone manufacturer in the world, so having them making phones for your platform exclusively is a huge advantage.
