focus on XBox Live features and media while targeting the 100milion XBox Live consumers should be Microsoft and Nokia strategy. The “dream”of toting desktop work around in a tablet wil make Windows 8 on a huge fail in consumer electronics. Microsoft has to shake off the image of its desktop OS and they did a great job with XBox Live and their current dominance in the living room. Adding producticity to tablets could end up hurting it. focus on its online community, gaming and media could help its positioning as a consumer mobile brand. Nokia making hardware is a huge plus instead of others like Samsung who is more firmly anchored to Android. Hopefully, Nokia is the first to debut a Windows 8 consumer tablet instead of HP, who could forever stain Wimdows 8 as the “notebook without a keyboard”.

Nokia, more than any other manufacturer, is Microsoft’s best chance to build a mobile/at home/work ecosystem. Rather than to tie the Windows 8 tablet to too much productivity (sure the entire MS Office suite ok), their focus should be to aim squarely at the consumer, where immediate adoption and compulsury purchases can establish W8 tablets as a solid media alternative to iPad.
Somehow, pushing XBox features and leveraging its 100 million user base, can give the Windows slate a “non Microsoft”impresion on the consumer. Anchor its features to Microst Wimdows OS, people will believe that they are walking around with their desktop computers from work -ughh

Well, they would arrive at a time when Android just about warms up to challenge Apple. Looks like it might hurt the Android market more than it would iPad, if and when it gets ready.

I wouldn’t mind an x64 tablet with the same design cues as the N9/Lumia 800/900. Would look stunning imo.
